Switching a GIF image to JPG is usually about where it has to work rather than how it looks: one format is accepted, smaller or sharper in the place the picture is heading. JPG (JPEG image) earns its place here: small photographic files that open literally everywhere, from a print shop kiosk to a decade-old phone. GIF is a 256-colour format from 1987 that survived because it loops short animations without a video player. Its palette limit makes it poor for photos and heavy for long clips.

Converting GIF to JPG re-encodes the picture: dimensions and visible content stay the same, while file size and colour handling follow the JPG encoder. Detail already discarded by earlier lossy compression cannot come back, so JPG preserves what is there rather than restoring what is gone. Transparency survives only if JPG supports an alpha channel.

Drop your GIF file above and Morphio decodes it locally, then re-encodes it as JPG using WebAssembly + the browser's native codecs. Nothing is ever uploaded — your files stay on your device. Batch as many files as your machine can handle. See exactly how in-browser conversion works.
Open the GIF to JPG page, drop your image on the drop zone and press convert. Morphio runs an in-browser image pipeline built on Canvas and WebAssembly codecs, so the GIF data never leaves your device and no server ever receives a copy.
Colour profile and pixel dimensions are preserved; you choose the quality level before the file is written. Converting GIF to JPG only rewrites the container and encoding you asked for — the source file on your disk is never modified.
Yes. The free plan covers 10 conversions a day with files up to 200 MB and adds no watermark or sign-up. Morphio Pro ($5/month, or $29 once for lifetime access) removes the daily cap and raises the per-file limit to 5 GB.
Morphio decodes the GIF file at full fidelity and re-encodes it at a high-quality JPG setting, so the difference is normally invisible or inaudible. What conversion cannot do is recover detail the original GIF file already threw away.
Yes — drop the whole batch in and each file is processed in turn on your own machine. The practical limit is your device's memory and patience, not a server quota, because nothing is queued anywhere else.
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so the file never leaves your device — you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
