The moment a spreadsheet needs to feed an application, it has to stop being a spreadsheet. CSV rows become an array of typed objects that an API, a script or a front-end can consume without a parsing detour.
CSV is a flat table in plain text: one row per line, values separated by commas. Every spreadsheet, database and analytics tool on earth imports it.
The header row becomes object keys and each subsequent row an object. Quoted fields, embedded commas and line breaks are handled properly — but CSV carries no types, so numbers and dates may need casting downstream.
What you gain with JSON: Nested, typed, machine-readable structure that every language parses natively.
Drop your CSV file above and Morphio decodes it locally, then re-encodes it as JSON using WebAssembly + the browser's native codecs. Nothing is ever uploaded — your files stay on your device. Batch as many files as your machine can handle. See exactly how in-browser conversion works.
Open the CSV to JSON page, drop your document on the drop zone and press convert. Morphio runs local parsers such as pdf.js that execute in your own tab, so the CSV data never leaves your device and no server ever receives a copy.
Text and structure are read locally, so nothing is retyped, re-uploaded, or sent to an OCR service. Converting CSV to JSON only rewrites the container and encoding you asked for — the source file on your disk is never modified.
Yes. The free plan covers 10 conversions a day with files up to 200 MB and adds no watermark or sign-up. Morphio Pro ($5/month, or $29 once for lifetime access) removes the daily cap and raises the per-file limit to 5 GB.
CSV has no type information, so values arrive as strings unless your application casts them explicitly.
Properly quoted fields are parsed correctly, including commas and newlines inside values.
