Why convert Markdown to HTML?

Turning a MD file into HTML changes what you can do with the document: read it, edit it, sign it, print it or hand it to a system that insists on one format. HTML (HyperText Markup Language) earns its place here: live, responsive, linkable content that any browser renders. Markdown is plain text with a light sprinkle of syntax for headings, lists and links. Developers, note-takers and documentation teams write in it because it stays readable raw.

When Markdown → HTML is the right move

  • Someone asked for the document as HTML and you only have the MD version.
  • You need the content in a form you can edit, sign, print or archive properly.
  • A system or form only accepts HTML uploads.

Quality, size and what changes

Text and structure move across from MD to HTML; how faithfully the layout follows depends on how much layout HTML can express. Fixed-layout targets keep pagination exactly as it looks, while text-oriented targets keep the words and headings and let the reader reflow them. Fonts not embedded in the source are substituted.

What you gain with HTML: Live, responsive, linkable content that any browser renders.

How it works

Drop your Markdown file above and Morphio decodes it locally, then re-encodes it as HTML using WebAssembly + the browser's native codecs. Nothing is ever uploaded — your files stay on your device. Batch as many files as your machine can handle. See exactly how in-browser conversion works.

Markdown to HTML — frequently asked questions

How do I convert Markdown to HTML without uploading the file?

Open the Markdown to HTML page, drop your document on the drop zone and press convert. Morphio runs local parsers such as pdf.js that execute in your own tab, so the Markdown data never leaves your device and no server ever receives a copy.

Does converting Markdown to HTML lose quality?

Text and structure are read locally, so nothing is retyped, re-uploaded, or sent to an OCR service. Converting Markdown to HTML only rewrites the container and encoding you asked for — the source file on your disk is never modified.

Is the Markdown to HTML converter free, and how big can the file be?

Yes. The free plan covers 10 conversions a day with files up to 200 MB and adds no watermark or sign-up. Morphio Pro ($5/month, or $29 once for lifetime access) removes the daily cap and raises the per-file limit to 5 GB.

Does converting MD to HTML lose quality?

No. The content is remapped from MD into HTML structurally, so nothing is re-compressed. Only features HTML has no way to express are left behind.

Can I convert several MD files to HTML at once?

Yes — drop the whole batch in and each file is processed in turn on your own machine. The practical limit is your device's memory and patience, not a server quota, because nothing is queued anywhere else.

Are my MD files uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, so the file never leaves your device — you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
